Class C & CE Driving Licence Training
Class C & CE Heavy Trucks & Lorries.
No upper limit: Your path to the wheel of the heaviest machines. Expert training for haulage companies, construction firms, fire services and aspiring professional drivers.
The licence for the real heavyweights.
With the Class C licence in München you may drive motor vehicles over 3,500 kg with no upper weight limit. With the CE extension, heavy trailers are included – allowing you to drive road trains and full-size articulated lorries. We prepare you for the tough reality on the roads.
Logistics & Haulage
The backbone of the economy. With Class CE you drive 40-tonne trucks across Europe. The ideal start to a career as a professional driver.
Construction & Trades
Heavy crane trucks, tippers and construction machinery built on a truck chassis typically require at least a Class C driving licence.
Fire Service & THW
Heavy rescue vehicles, turntable ladders and large fire engines over 7.5 tonnes require a Class C licence for emergency operations.
What exactly are C and CE?
Class C – The Heavy Solo Truck
- Vehicles over 3,500 kg (no upper limit)
- Small trailer up to 750 kg GVW permitted

Your service is priceless – your licence becomes more affordable.
Without you, nothing works in an emergency! Anyone behind the wheel of a heavy rescue vehicle, driving a large fire engine or transporting heavy equipment for THW carries enormous responsibility – and needs a Class C or CE licence as a legal prerequisite.
That is why we offer all active members of fire services, rescue services and THW an exclusive discount on truck training. Simply mention it when registering and bring a short proof of membership.
- A service ID or confirmation from your station is sufficient
- Medical service training is generally recognised as proof of first aid

Requirements for registration.
Before we can get your truck training underway, a few administrative steps need to be completed. We help you and your employer with the planning!
Class B Prerequisite
A regular car driving licence is a mandatory prerequisite before we can enrol you in the truck theory course.
Minimum Age (generally 21)
Standard from 21 years. From 18 years possible for trainee professional drivers or emergency service personnel (fire service, THW).
Medical Fitness
You need a medical certificate as well as a comprehensive eye test from an ophthalmologist (not an optician!).
First-Aid Course (9 Units)
The comprehensive first-aid course is mandatory. Your previous course from the Class B licence may still be valid if it already covered 9 teaching units.
Why completing C and CE together makes the most sense.
Special Drives Saved
Separate training requires 20 mandatory hours. In the combined course it is only 14! You save 6 expensive special drives and a lot of time:
- 2x cross-country drives saved
- 1x motorway drive saved
- 3x night drives saved
Paperwork Only Once
One KVR application, one medical certificate, only one set of TÜV fees for the theory exam. The bureaucratic effort is cut in half.
Maximum Flexibility
With the CE combination you are immediately fully operational for any employer, as you are legally permitted to drive even the largest 40-tonne articulated lorry.

Truck driver's license München – Class C, CE & C1 at Peters Fahrschule ▼
Earning your truck driver's license in München opens the door to a whole range of careers. The Class C license covers trucks over 3,500 kg gross vehicle mass with no upper weight limit (plus a light trailer up to 750 kg), while Class CE adds the tractor unit and trailer combination over 750 kg — the articulated lorries and road trains that move 40 tonnes and more across Europe. Whichever route you take, you build on your existing Class B: it's the mandatory prerequisite before we can enrol you in the truck theory course. Want to start smaller? Our Class C1 training is the ideal stepping stone for vehicles up to 7,500 kg.
Who actually needs a Class C or CE license in München? Far more people than you might think. Professional drivers in haulage and logistics rely on CE for long-distance freight, while the construction trades need at least Class C for tippers, crane trucks and machinery built on a truck chassis. The fire brigade, rescue services and THW depend on it for fire engines, turntable ladders and heavy civil-protection vehicles. Even vehicle inspectors and appraisers at TÜV, DEKRA and GTÜ require C or CE simply to move the heavy commercial vehicles they assess — and for those pure inspection drives, no Code 95 is needed at all. Use our cost calculator to plan your individual budget.
The smart way to train is the combined C+CE course. Booked separately, Class C and Class CE each require 10 mandatory special drives (Sonderfahrten) — 20 in total. Completed together, you only need 14 instead of 20, saving six expensive lessons and a lot of time. Beyond the practical training you'll also need a medical report, an eyesight test certificate and a large first-aid course (9 teaching units). The standard minimum age is 21, but Class C is available from 18 for trainee professional drivers (Fachkraft im Fahrbetrieb) and for emergency-services personnel — note that for CE the from-18 route applies only with a completed professional-driver basic qualification, not under the emergency-services exemption. Whether you need the Code 95 professional-driver qualification depends on your use: it's required for commercial freight transport (via a full or accelerated basic qualification with IHK exam), but not for fire-brigade or private driving or the craftsmen's regulation. Learn more on our BKF / Code 95 modules page.
At Peters Fahrschule you train on a modern IVECO fleet (IVECO Eurocargo) as an IHK-registered training company established back in 1994. Class C starts from approximately €2,300, with the CE extension in the combined course from around €1,200 extra (minimum prices — the final figure depends on the number of lessons you need). Active members of the fire brigade, rescue service and THW receive a dedicated discount. Keep in mind that your license is valid for 5 years and is renewed simply by medical and eyesight report — no new test. Allow roughly 8–10 weeks for the München licensing authority (KVR) to process your application before training begins, so get in touch early. We train across München & the surrounding region: Haidhausen • Au • Giesing • Obergiesing • Harlaching • Ramersdorf • Berg am Laim • Trudering • Riem • Haar • Vaterstetten • Baldham. Our three locations in München-Haidhausen, München-Giesing and Haar — our dedicated truck-training site — are all conveniently linked to S-Bahn and U-Bahn.
