Iveco Daily – your driving-school truck for Class C1 in Munich

Seven and a half meters of vehicle ease onto Rosenheimer Strasse, and suddenly you are thinking in terms of rear swing instead of a car bonnet. Right here, in the Iveco Daily with a genuine tachograph on board, you take your first honest step away from the car feeling. No toy, no oversized van: a real commercial vehicle that teaches you to think in C1 terms.

Why you learn in the Iveco Daily

C1 is the bridge to the big truck, and the Iveco Daily is built exactly for that. With a permitted total mass of 5.5 t you feel the gap between empty weight (3.45 t) and a loaded vehicle in every braking maneuver and every curve near Ostpark. What our learners notice first: a truck reacts more sluggishly, the braking distance grows with the load, and driving with foresight is not a slogan but a duty. The EG tachograph forces you to factor driving and rest times in from day one rather than ticking them off as theory. Master the Daily and you have laid the foundation for C and CE: judging rear swing, scanning blind spots, keeping the 2.85 m height in mind. Step by step the car driver becomes a professional driver. You drive the exam yourself; the vehicle only takes the fear, never the responsibility.

Technology & equipment at a glance

Engine & power 180 hp from a 3.0 l engine deliver strong pulling power. Key for learning: you practice metering that torque on inclines instead of over-revving with car reflexes.
Permitted total mass 5.5 t permitted total mass at 3.45 t empty weight. Exactly this gap teaches you how loading changes braking distance and cornering — the core lesson on the way to the big truck.
EG tachograph The digital tachograph is mandatory in real trucks. You learn driving and rest times in practice, not just theory — an advantage for every exam question on the topic.
Dimensions L 7.62 m, W 2.17 m, H 2.85 m. You must keep this height and length present at all times: entrances, bridges and tight curves are planned differently in the Daily than in a car.
Reversing camera & speed limiter The reversing camera is a learning aid when maneuvering but never replaces the shoulder check. The speed limiter gets you used to truck-typical limits — both prepare you for C/CE.
Ball coupling Trailer-ready thanks to the ball coupling. Even in the C1 vehicle you feel how towing behaves — the direct prelude to the C1E extension and later CE.

Assistance systems are a learning aid – you take the exam yourself.

What you may drive

In the Iveco Daily you train for class C1: vehicles over 3.5 t up to 7.5 t permitted total mass, here specifically 5.5 t. C1 is the step before C (over 7.5 t) and CE (with a large trailer) — exactly the bridge to the big truck. Thanks to the ball coupling you already get a taste of towing toward C1E. B197 is irrelevant here, as it concerns car training.

Locations & test area Munich East

Picture the tight left turn from Grünwalder Strasse in Giesing into a side street: in a car you simply pull through, but in the 7.62 m Daily you have to plan the rear swing and take a wider line without cutting into oncoming traffic. This is exactly the maneuver we drill until it sits.

Locations: Haidhausen (Rosenheimer Str. 86), Giesing (Grünwalder Str. 12) & Haar (Münchener Str. 13).

Frequently asked questions

Is C1 training in a 5.5 t vehicle enough when C1 covers up to 7.5 t?

Yes. Class C1 entitles you to drive up to 7.5 t permitted total mass, and our Iveco Daily at 5.5 t sits right in that class. You learn all the exam-relevant traits of a real commercial vehicle — tachograph, braking behavior under load, dimensions — and may drive vehicles up to 7.5 t once licensed.

Is the C1 in the Daily a good bridge to the big truck (C/CE)?

That is exactly why we use it. In the Daily you learn rear swing, blind spots, driving and rest times on the tachograph and driving under load — all foundations you will need again in C and CE. The ball coupling also gives you a first impression of towing.
